THE FESTIVAL

This is the 7th year of the annual SoundOut festival, and in 2016 we will bring to you the continuation of the incredible bristling explorative sonic arts event. This is the International Free Improvisational, Free Jazz and Experimental Music festival to will uplift tired ears, explore the unknown, see within the fabric of sound, unravel the threads of normative musical praxis, and question sonic hegemonies. Listen to music with an unforced organic quality that will grow on you...It will replenish your ears and mind!  With artists from Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland that will combine, mix, cross-fertilize, and move sound mountains to inspire enquiring ears.

 

This coming years festival 2016 sees extraordinary artists such as the brilliant RHRR trio: (France) [including clarinetist Xavier Charles, vocalist Guylaine Cosseron; and pianist Frederic Blondy ]; also astounding vocalist Fanziska Baumann from Switzerland ; remarkable violinst Mia Zabelka from Austria; brilliant Swiss bass clarinetist Hans Koch in duo with electronic artist Thomas Peter; astonishing trombonist from Norway Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø; innovative German guitarist Hannes Buder; renowned Dutch tenor saxophonist/electronic artist Luc Hotukamp; wondderful clarinettist Aviva Endean from Melbourne; trumpet tone master Miroslav Bukovsky; the wind trio Psithurism (John Porter, Richard Johnson and Rhys Butler) (Aust); wonderful electronic artist Reuben Ingall; and versatile bassist Simon Milman + Guests drummer Stephen Roach from the USA and Michael Norris from Canberra.

 

The 2016 group of Artists has never gathered before and never will again in the same configuration, but they are all involved in an international dialogue that is essential to the unfolding of new music structures and what it means to be human in the 21st Century. Come, see and hear the new music evolve.
